Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited's Overseas Projects in Malaysia

        PublishDate:2025-04-23 Source:Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited

Recently, President Xi Jinping visited Malaysia for a state visit, engaging with Malaysian leaders to express friendship and discuss cooperation.

In recent years, China National Materials Group Corporation has consistently implemented the Belt and Road Initiative, deeply advancing the group's 'overseas reconstruction' strategy. They have developed a series of highly influential waste heat power generation projects, providing strong impetus for the green transformation and sustainable development of the local cement industry.

YTL Cement's 12MW Waste Heat Power Generation Project in Malaysia

In 2012, Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited and the Perak Hanjiang Cement Company, a subsidiary of Malaysia's YTL Cement Group, successfully signed a general contracting agreement for a 12MW waste heat power generation project in Kuala Lumpur. This marks Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited's first waste heat power generation project in Malaysia, as well as the first of its kind in the Malaysian cement industry. In January 2015, the project successfully connected to the grid and began generating electricity, and it has been operating well since. It is capable of saving 82 million kWh of electricity, reducing coal consumption by 28,800 tons, and cutting carbon emissions by 67,200 tons annually, thus becoming a key milestone for local industrial production in the pursuit of green and low-carbon development.

Malaysia CIMA Cement Group NSCI Cement Plant Heat Recovery Power Generation General Contracting Project

The project adopts the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model to support a waste heat power generation system for a 4000 TPD and a 5000 TPD clinker production line. It is configured with four boilers and one turbine, with a turbine installed capacity of 16.5 MW and a generator installed capacity of 18 MW. Upon completion, the project is expected to save 112.75 million kWh of electricity annually, reduce coal consumption by 39,600 tons, and cut carbon emissions by 92,400 tons. This greatly reduces the overall electricity consumption of the existing clinker line and significantly enhances CIMA Cement's advantages in cost control and market competition.

Malaysia YTL Cement Waste Heat Power Generation (Phase II) New Kiln Tail Boiler Project

In November 2022, Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited continued its excellent cooperation with Malaysia's YTL Cement Group, successfully signing a contract for the construction of a new kiln tail boiler project for the YTL Cement waste heat power generation (Phase II) in Malaysia. By early 2024, after the new boiler is completed and put into operation, it will significantly reduce the overall power consumption of the existing clinker production line, aiding Perak Han Chong Cement in enhancing its cost control capabilities, thereby further strengthening its market competitive advantage and achieving a dual improvement in both economic and social benefits.

YTL Cement's 10MW Waste Heat Power Generation Project in Malaysia

In October 2023, the third 'Belt and Road' International Cooperation Summit Forum was held in Beijing. In the presence of Zhou Yuxian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China National Building Material Group, China National Materials Group and APMC, a subsidiary of Malaysia's YTL Cement Group, signed a general contract for a 10MW waste heat power generation project. Upon completion, this project is expected to save 68.16 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, reduce coal consumption by 23,900 tons, and decrease carbon emissions by 55,900 tons. It will bring substantial economic, environmental, and social benefits to local enterprises and regions, showcasing the wisdom and responsibility of Chinese enterprises in assisting Malaysia's green transformation.
